November is the month when our services remember:  All Saints- we remember all those who are now in God’s eternal kingdom.  All Souls- we remember the faithful departed. Remembrance Sunday- we remember all who fell in wars past and present.

All Saints’ Day: Almighty God, you have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of your Son Christ our Lord: grant us grace so to follow your blessèd saints in all virtuous and godly living that we may come to those inexpressible joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you. Amen

Friday 2nd: Residents in Albion Rd. & Church Wardens, A.L.M’s, Readers.
Commemoration of the Faithful Departed – All Souls’ Day:
Eternal God, our Maker and Redeemer, grant us, with all the faithful departed, the sure benefits of your Son’s saving passion and glorious resurrection that, in the last day, when you gather up all things in Christ, we may with them enjoy the fullness of your promises. Amen.

Saturday 3rd: Residents in Anderby Walk & PCC Members, Treasurer & Secretary.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1. God gives us the seasons of our lives. Lord God, You lead me through the seasons, and whether I’m laughing or crying I know You are with me. May I reach out to someone with Your love today. Amen

It is God who can make each day a blessing, because every lasting joy finds its source in Him. My people will receive a double portion …. And everlasting joy will be theirs.        Isaiah 61:7.

Monday 5th: Residents in Barnaby’s Rd., Bristle Hall Way. & Lay Eucharist Assts.
 Whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying “This is the way; walk in it” Isaiah 30:21

Tuesday 6th: Residents in Chorley Rd, The Meadows & Sidespeople, Intercessors.
“I am the Bread of Life” Having satisfied the physical hunger of over five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fishes, Jesus said: “I am the bread of life.  Whoever comes to me will never go hungry and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35) Jesus alone offers us deep and real satisfaction.

Wednesday 7th: Residents in Dicconson Lane & Team Ministry, Healing Ministry.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119: 105

Thursday 8th: Residents in Church Lane, Wingates Lane & Women’s Guild.
God gave us the best in Jesus, and through Him He continues to give us joy again and again. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
Friday 9th: Residents in Church St. to Railway Station & Gates Primary School
Committing our lives to God’s plan and purpose is the wisest, highest, and best decision we could ever make. Serving Jesus is such an awesome way to live. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him. He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn. Psalm 37: 5-6

Saturday 10th: Residents in Croft St. Dixon St. Westchapel Mews & Men’s Grp.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. From Laurence Binyon's poem For the Fallen.

Remembrance Sunday:
  We shall not Forget
In Flanders fields the poppies blow between the crosses, row on row, that mark our place; and in the sky the larks, still bravely singing, fly scarce heard amid the guns below.

Monday 12th: Residents in Fawcett’s Fold & Housebound, Emergency Services.
My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. Exodus 33:14. When the journey seems long and dreary, dear Lord, help me to remember that You are travelling with me. There is no need to fear where you are going when Jesus is with you.

Tuesday 13th: Residents in Greensmith’s Way & Brownies, Tiddliewinks Grps
The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything that I need. He lets me rest in fields of green grass and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water. He gives me new strength. He guides me in the right paths, as he has promised. Even if I go through the deepest darkness, I wil not be afraid, Lord, for you are with me. Your shepherd’s rod and staff protect me. You prepare a banquet for me, where all my enemies can see me; you welcome me as an honoured guest and fill my cup to the brim. I know that your goodness and love will be with me all my life; and your house will be my home as long as I live. Psalm 23.

Wednesday 14th:  Residents in Hardy Close & Gardeners, Flower Arrangers.

Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good; his love is eternal. 1 Corinthians 16:34


Thursday 15th: Residents in Holden Lea & Cleaning Team, Kitchen Crew.

He gives me joy for the journey as I travel along; joy for the journey – in my heart there’s a song. Rest when I’m weary, strength for every day. Joy for the journey all the way.    


Friday 16th: Residents in James St. & Children’s Church & Helpers.

Gentle God breathe love within us, breathe love between us. From one moment to the next, you hold us in the palm of your hand.


Saturday 17th: Residents in Lever St. & Social Events.

Church Christmas Fair 11.00am – 2.00pm.

We pray for all who enter our church today and as we look ahead to a busy day, help us to choose to seek you first. Enable us to be more kind, more loving, and more Christlike as we encounter people today. We give thanks for all who give of their time to make our Fair a success and ask that your blessings be upon everyone this day. Amen.

You are the vine, we are the branches, keep us abiding in You. Then we’ll grow in Your love, then we’ll grow in Your name, that the world will surely know that You have power to heal and to save. You are the vine, we are the branches, keep us abiding in You.

 Jesus says “ I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing”. John 15:5


Monday 19th: Residents in Part St. & 8.00 am Service & Congregation

I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will find them a place to rest. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken. I will look for those that are lost, bring back those that wander off, bandage those that are hurt, and heal those that are sick. Ezekiel 34: 15-16.


Tuesday 20th: Residents in Plough Fields & 9.30 am Service & Congregation.

Jesus said “I am the gate. Whoever comes in by me will be saved; they will come in and go and find pasture. The thief comes in order to steal, kill and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life – life in all its fullness” John 10: 9-10.


Wednesday 21st: Residents in Ryecroft Drive & Baptism Families.

Because God is faithful, you can depend on Him.

Because God is good you can walk with Him.

 Because God is love, you can trust Him.

 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.

 Hebrews 10:23.

Thursday 22nd: Residents in Scott St. & Services in the Team and their Congregations.

Today, God will give us what we need for today, and tomorrow, He’ll give us what we need for tomorrow. Then the Lord said to Moses “ I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day.” Exodus 16:4


Friday 23rd: Residents in Seddon St. & The Industrial Estates.

Lord Jesus, I pray that You will bring peace in my life and that I will be prepared to pass that peace on to others, so that I can be a peacemaker for You. Amen


Saturday 24th: Residents in St. John’s Ave. & Car Showrooms and Car Drivers.

Praise the Lord; praise God our saviour! For each day he carries us in his arms. Psalm 68:19

Abba, Father, I praise You for carrying me through life. Please give me faith to trust that You are always with me. Amen

Sunday 25th: Residents in St. John’s Crt. & Small Businesses, Public Houses.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.


Monday 26th: Residents in The Croft & Farmers and Agriculture.

Jesus is our friend. He enjoys walking with us as our companion on life’s pathway. He brings blessing into our lives when we walk closely with Him. If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another. 1 John 1:7


Tuesday 27th: Residents in Thomas St. & Stewardship, Time & Talents.

Make you life like a garden full of daises; Bright and happy to be basking in the Lord’s care.


Wednesday 28th: Residents in Willow Bank & Our Church Building, Churchyard.

When we feel weak in our prayers, God’s Spirit helps us in ways we can’t imagine. In the same way the Spirit helps us in our weakness. Romans 8:26.


Thursday 29th: Residents in Wingates Grove & Weddings & Funerals.

God before me, God behind me, God below me, God be to my right, God be to my left. May God be all around me. Amen


Friday 30th: Residents in Wingates Square & Shops & those outside our Parish.

God will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths. Isaiah 2:3


Dear Lord, we thank you for the harvest gathered in. For food on our table, for crisp November days and ask you to keep all your children safely gathered in the family home. But we also ask you to be with those who have no food or home in these short days and long dark, cold nights. Amen.
